By another reader They're plastic,yes, but beautiful design and the handles are long enough that they don't fall into the biggest salad bowl, and light enough that they don't fall OUT of the smaller bowls. I got the same in another color at an expensive kitchen store and was delighted to see these on Amazon fantastic price. Buy extras!
