Delightful treat, great as a candy or a unique sweetener! Apr 26, 2012

I love these Verbena-flavored sweets, which are dainty leaf-shaped hard candies. Verbena is a strong lemony flavor that's a bit spicy, for lack of a better word.. These candies are sweet, but strongly flavored. Which is a positive!
I like to use these instead of sugar cubes with my tea. They make a very pretty presentation if serving company, and add that lively lemony Verbena flavor to my hot teas. I especially like the result in Tazo Zen and Passion herbal teas. I just drop a few into my cup and stir until they melt. The more you add, the stronger the flavor.
As a bonus, the jar is reusable. I make my own old-fashioned hard candies at Christmas with "exotic" flavor extracts like Rose and Champagne Strawberry. These jars make wonderful storage for my concoctions.
A wonderful, unique treat for yourself, or a wonderful gift, especially for neighbors or teachers.
